☃ Some of the religions followed in Nepal are as follows:

  • Hinduism
  • Buddhism
  • Islam
  • Jainism
  • Christianity
  • Sikhism

♨ Nepal is a multireligious country. People of different religions and culture have been living here with peace and harmony tolerating each other's religious faiths and philosophy. They , even now , are living together helping each other and celebrate each other's religious festivals. Although the majority of people here are Hindus , Buddhist , Christians , Kirats and Muslims , people of other religions also live here as equal members and enjoy equal rights and opportunities. There is no discrimination on the basis of religion

All the religions exist equally and the followers of different religions are treated equal before law. The Hindus visit Swayambhunath , Boudhhanath , Lumbini [ birthplace of Gautam Buddha ] and many other religious Buddhist places and other religions. Similarly , Buddhists also visit Hindu temples. They worship Lord Pashnupatinath as Pancha Buddha , one of the incarnations of Lord Buddha. Hindus enjoy Buddhist festivals and vice versa. Likewise , Churches and Mosques have been built in many places and they exist in peace and harmony with equal rights and freedom. The equal and peaceful existence of all the religion is a special feature of Nepal. Religious tolerance and harmony have always prevented Nepal from religious violence and war. It has led to the establishment of peace and prosperity. This is how religious tolerance is maintained in Nepal among the people of different religions.
