United States backed up a and sent their military to the Panaman independentists that wanted to rebel against the colombian government, and the Colombians had already rejected the offer of the United States to build and keep the rights to the Panama Canal, so they financed and helped the new Panama government which in return gave them permission and the rights of the Panama Canal for perpetuity, this is why the eggshell that its Colombia is broken, the United States financed an independency war against Colombia backing up Panama, when the Colombian government didn´t want to give USA the rights to the Panama Canal.
