y = 6x + 11....slope here is 6. A parallel line will have the same slope.

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 6
(-5,1)...x = -5 and y = 1
now we sub and find b, the y int
1 = 6(-5) + b
1 = -30 + b
1 + 30 = b
31 = b

so ur equation is : y = 6x + 31...but we need it in standard form

y = 6x + 31
-6x + y = 31 ...multiply by -1 to make the x term positive
6x - y = -31 <===
