Cause and Effect of the Civil Rights Movement


The first half of your assignment is to provide a works-cited page that lists all the sources you
used in your essay for Lesson 2. You will also need to go back over the parenthetical citations in
your essay to make sure that the sources match up with the entries on your works-cited page.
The second half of your assignment is to turn your essay into a speech.
To prepare your speech, you must boil down your essay into an outline. Your outline can appear
on sheets of paper, note cards, or some other medium. You'll then present your information out
loud to your classmates, using visual aids to help them understand your argument and get them
interested. The visual aids can be the same ones that appeared in your essay, or you can use
new ones.
