The reason I say this is because the argument would not need a hook whereas it is not a story in which you persuade, it is something that you use proof to outline a truth or correct term. A claim is required because you need to have a claim in order to say that you are right or someone is wrong. Also, Evidence is required to back up your essay with proof, that way you are proving a correct statement, rather than an incorrect one. Lastly, in order for a reader to fully understand why there is a disagreement of which resulted in the essay, you need to explain why the other is wrong and where the subject came from. That provides insight for the reader.
