Blue light is a wave, just like all the other colors of light. That's lucky for us. We can use the simple equation that ties together the speed, wavelength, and frequency of a wave. And since we're talking about light here, we know its speed ! It's the speed of light !
Wave speed = (wavelength) x (frequency)
Frequency = (wave speed) / (wavelength)
Frequency = (3 x 10⁸ m/s) / (455 x 10⁻⁹ m)
Frequency = 6.59 x 10¹⁴ Hz.
