Henry Matisse is very famous for his paintings with abstract designs and shapes that correspond to different random things. Usually, Matisse would use very bright and colorful colors with rounded and curved shapes to create a sense of happiness and relaxation when you would look at one of his paintings. A good example of this is one of his most famous paintings of a cat dipping it’s paw into a jar of goldfish and water. Another element he commonly used was patterns. Matisse often used zigzag and wavy line patterns, usually in the background, to add detail or a sense if texture to something like a floor or a wall.
