The way I like to solve percentage problems is by converting the percentage to a decimal, then doing some multiplication. (Bear with me if you aren't yet allowed to use a calculator). You can convert percentages to decimals by writing out the percentage of 1.00 that the percentage covers. In most cases, you can just move the decimal point to the left twice:
62.0% = 0.62
Then, all that's left is to multiply 0.62 by 25 to get your answer!
[tex]0.62*25=15.5[/tex]
Your answer will be: 62% of 25 is 15.5.
