The ratio of two numbers is 8 to 5. The difference in two numbers is 24. What are the numbers?

Let, the numbers are: 8x, 5x
It is given that, 8x - 5x = 24
3x = 24
x = 24/3
x = 8

So, 8x = 8(8) = 64
also, 5x = 5(8) = 40

In short, Numbers would be 40 and 64
