REMEMBER; you can do anything with an equation as long as you do it on both sides!

4x + 9x - 4 = 2x + 8
Lets first move the "x" to one side. 
... 4x + 9x - 4 - 2x = 8          
I subtracted - 2x from both sides.
4x + 9x - 2x = 8 + 4
I added 4 to both sides
-//- = 12
I sumed up what I could on the right side
13x - 2x = 12
I simplyfied the left side
11x = 12
I subtracted on the left side
x = 12/11
I divided 11 from both sides

x = 1.09090909091
