Mrs Lee bought 450 sweets. She divided them equally among 30 children. 12 children ate all the sweets that were given to them. 7 children ate 9 sweets each. The rest of the children ate 12 sweets each. How many sweets were not eaten? Please use basic math, I also need this by tomorrow. Thank you!!

Respuesta :

ur answer is 75
450/30 = 15
12 children ate all 15 sweets
12*15=180
7 children ate 9 sweets
7*9=63
30-19=11
11 * 12 = 132
180 + 132 + 63 = 375
450-375=75

Since 12 children eat 15 sweets each you multiply 12 and 15 and it gives you 180. 7 children eat 9 sweets each so you multiply 7 and 9 which gives you 63 sweets. Lastly 11 children (30 -19 because 12+7= 19 and 30 is the total of children so you subtracts 30-19 which is 11) eat 12 sweets each which gives you 132 sweets. Now you add all the sweets eaten together which is 375 sweets eaten and then you subtract 450 which is the total of sweets that Mrs.Lee bought by 375 which is the amount of sweets the children ate and you answer is 75 sweets were left.

All basic math.
