This was due to the segregation issues that had happened in the school where guardsmen prevented black people from entering into a school that was all white.

Louis Armstrong had cancelled his tour in this year due to the fact that Orval Faubus had used the national guards to block the students from enrolling into the school.

Louis put his career on the line when he dared to talk about the injustice that had being done to the children.
