The Aztecs were a part of a social hierarchy which is a pyramid-like social structure that put people on top of others. The social hierarchy for the Aztecs is as followed:

First level:
Consists of the servants/slaves who work under everyone else.

Second level:
Consists of commoners which are usually people like farmers or different types of workers.

Third level:
Consists of the Merchants, ones who sell/buy products and the third level also consist of craftsmen people who build tools, weapons, etc...

Fourth level:
Consists of the Nobles, these are the rich who own servants/slaves, also consists of the warrior class.

Fifth level:
Final level consists of the King, the King is the leader of all within the kingdom and usually originated from the fourth level.
