Imagine that you are an attorney and a distant relative of John or
Elizabeth Proctor has just heard that Elizabeth has been arrested and
charged with witchcraft against Abigail Williams. As a result, you feel
inclined to inform John or Elizabeth Proctor that their rights, from the Bill of
Rights (Page 121 in Collections) are being violated, and you would like to
explain to them an amendment that is being broken so that they can
sufficiently defend Elizabeth in court. (I am perfectly aware the Bill of Rights
did not exist at this time, but for the sake of the assignment, let us make-
believe. Furthermore, you will be graded on the format and content of your
letter, totaling 200 points.)
