However, his family managed to have him released and sent into exile instead. Why did the people of Florence decide to end Cosmo's exile and invite him back?

He is often remembered for his leadership position as the first ruler of Florence. However, due to a sudden change of events, he was arrested in 1433 and sentenced to death. His initial sentence was later changed because of his family's influence to exile for 10 years. Still, yet, it wasn't over, because of the financial influence of his family, after fleeing to Venice for just over 1 year, the people of Florence decide to end Cosimo's exile and invite him back.
