When damage or death of part of the heart muscle occurs as a result of ischemia, which is called heart attack or myocardial infarction. In every 40 seconds , someone in the united states has heart attack.

Ischemia is which the blood flow is restricted in part of the body. When blood flow to the heart muscle is obstructed by partial blockage of coronary artery by a buildup of plaques. Inferior wall myocardial occurs from a coronary artery occlusion with resultant decreased perfusion to that region of the myocardium.
