Starting with ingestion, place the following anatomical structures in order to identify the correct sequence that food would pass through the body.

Respuesta :

Mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine

Food moves through the alimentary canal, which runs the length of the human body from the mouth to the anus. Food passes through this canal, where it is digested and nutrients are taken up by the body

What is Alimentary canal ?

Beginning in the mouth, where food is chewed and partially digested by salivary enzymes, is the alimentary canal. The food subsequently enters the pharynx and travels to the oesophagus after being swallowed.

  • The meal is transported through the oesophagus to the stomach, where enzymes and acid complete the digesting process. The food then moves on to the small intestine, where digestion proceeds and nutrients are absorbed. Before food is expelled as faeces, the large intestine takes water from it.
