In the long run, you can't actually prevent abortion. You can only prevent safe abortions. But, more women(and other people with a uterus) might feel less inclined to have abortions if given the resources to care for themselves, for their possible child, and for the rest of their family if they have one. Obviously some people have abortions because they simply don't want a child or don't feel equipped to care for one as a person, however some people choose abortion because they may not have the financial means to care for a baby.
So, by providing better resources and financial aid for people, there is probably a much better chance that we can lessen the number of abortions had, and more specifically the number of unsafe ones.
