Xylem is involved in the unidirectional transport of water and minerals. It is driven by transpiration pull. Stomatal opening is required for xylem transport .If stomata are not opens at all the ascent of sap cannot occur.
when plat roots are abosorb water and nutrients front he soil , these materials move up the nutrients from the soil , these materials move up the stem and into the leaves through the xylem. capillary action which relies on water of cohesion surface tension, is allow water to defy gravity and it travel through xylem and into leaves.
Photosynthesis occurred then produced sugar move through the phloem to other parts of plant of the plant to be used in cellular respiration or stored for later.
