The definition of a diary is the datebook or journal where you can record events, emotions and thoughts or feelings. The datebook where you can keep track of the appointments is an example of the diary. A journal is that you can keep where you can write down your feelings is an other example of a diary.

If you had only one egg for breakfast, write “Had an egg for breakfast.” so Don't feel that you have to have had an 12 eggs or something for breakfast or just have to get in the diary.
