Alot of women write books their note just nuns, the're are women out there who write books to help others and to tell others not to give up on CHRIST because there is the greatest reward anyone can ever have. and thats being with CHRIST and not going to the lake of fire. (Im sorry I just had to say that).
And they women are I guess you can say known for their most famous and breath taking books. some of the most famous Christian spiritual writers have been women (especially nuns). If you want to research the subject, then names to look up include Julian of Norwich, St Theresa of Avilla, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, St Theresa of Lisieux and St Faustina Kowalska. Start reading about some of them and that will point you in the right direction.
Women ( nuns or sisters) did much the same as men living in organized into communities (convents) renouncing the world and focusing on spiritual matters They also helped to provide healthcare, teaching and safety for women and children. Many holy women spent many hours in prayer and meditation. This would not have been possible living in a town but a convent povied a quiet place to do so.
