Shari'ah as a set of laws, is derived from the words of Allah in the holy texts of the Quran which makes Shari'ah a very important part of the lives of Muslims.
The Hadiths are also another source of Shari'ah law and these refer to the many sayings of the the Prophet Muhammad that did not make it into the Quran. The Sunna is then the final source of the Shari'ah creed and it refers to the guidelines to the traditions and practices of Prophet Muhammed while he lived.
