Re-arrange the equations so that all variables are on the left sides:

2 = 4y - 3x  

⇔ -3x + 4y = 2   .......  (3)

5x = 2y - 3

⇔  5x - 2y = -3  ....... (4)

Choose one variable to eliminate. Let us choose y. Multiply equation (4) by 2, we get:

10x - 4y = -6   ....... (5)

Add equation (3) and (5)

-3x + 4y = 2

10x - 4y = -6 +

7x          = -4

 x          = -4/7

Substitute back  x = -4/7 into equation (3):

-3x + 4y = 2

-3.(-4/7) + 4y = 2

12/7 + 4y = 14/7

4y = 2/7

y = 2/28 = 1/14

Hence, the solution is (-4/7, 1/14)
