The term Psychomachia can be defined as the war of spirits or souls. It is a poem that describes the battle between good and evil soul. In the scene Faustus is revealing the corruption that taints his soul. He wanted things that dark magic can offer by accepting Belzebub as god. He rejects the divine god and mercy and embraces evil. He preferred to exchange the beautiful and godly gifts of heaven for materialistic world. The battle for Faustus`s soul continuous as lucifer took no chance and insisted that the pact be written in Faustus`s blood as it is the body`s source of life. The protagonist is disguised as scholar who selected dark culture over tradition.
