Another method of control employed by persons in positions of authority is cultural oppression. This effective weapon of manipulation is designed to subtly sway and maintain the composure of the oppressed. Invaders are able to alter the beliefs of the oppressed by making them feel inferior on the basis of many aspects including color to the rest of the world. They can establish an ally-like relationship with their invaders by forbidding originality and self-individuality. Because the fundamental principles of tyranny have already been established by earlier generations, the act of cultural invasion is really a formality. These fundamental components of control rely on illiterate people who are hopeless and believe that this is their only chance to achieve freedom.
