7. Two groups of scientists designed a study to determine if obesity was more common in some families than others. Body mass index, or BMI, was used as an indication of obesity. BMI is a measure of a person's weight that is factored by his or her height.

The scientists calculated and recorded the BMIs of 50 members within each of five extended families. The results were broken down into four categories: obese, overweight, normal, and underweight. The data from this study is presented in the graph below.

Upon examining the data, the two groups of scientists came to two different conclusions. Scientists in Group X concluded that obesity was more common in some families due to inherited traits. Scientists in Group Y concluded that obesity was more common in some families because they have similar eating habits, which are learned behaviors.

What is the best explanation for the different conclusions?
A) Only scientists in Group Y correctly interpreted the data.
B) The data clearly shows that obesity is not linked to heredity or behavior.
C) People have different points of view that influence how they interpret data.
D) Only scientists in Group X correctly interpreted the data.
