Functions of Specialized Tissues:

- Dermal tissue protects the plant, vascular tissue helps in the circulation of nutrients, and ground tissue stores nutrients to support the plant.
- The vascular tissues, xylem, and phloem are arranged in the vascular bundle and serve to regulate and circulate the nutrients. Xylem transports water, while phloem transports nutrients and organic compounds.
Thus, the meristematic tissue of plants is involved in the specialization of cells and tissues.
