Species are natural selection can amplify or diminish only heritable traits. Acquired characteristics cannot be passed on to offspring. Individuals do not evolve, individuals are born with genetics, more common in the group and other traits change or disappear.
If no one is around you may discover a new variation of animals that no one has seen. You can may be able to learn what they like, what they eat, or you can make an adaption and see if they like new things.
