The x-ray machine has allowed doctors determine, quickly and almost painlessly, if bones are broken and what an immediate corse of action needs to be taken.  This is important from the kid who broke his wrist during practice to the patient during surgery who it is being used to find something life or death.

The laser has changed surgery forever.  Many surgeries can now be done quicker and more safely than ever before.  Some surgeries, like those with the Gamma-Knife, could never have been considered before the new equipment was invented.

Computers are used everywhere in medicine.  From the records in doctor's office that are shared with hospitals safely so that patient records can be up-to-date to those that are used to control some of the equipment that is used during surgery.
