The answer is Freed slaves chose to join the Seminoles.

The correct option is: "Freed slaves chose to join the Seminoles. "

The Seminoles are an indigenous tribe of North America of the Muscogui linguistic family. Formerly they resided to the north of the peninsula of Florida. Currently they are divided into two groups. The most numerous live in Wevoka (Seminole County, Oklahoma) and the rest still live in Florida, in the reserves of Big Cypress Swamp / Swamp Great Cypress (the mikasuki), Brighton, Dania, Seminole and Tamiami Trail. The freed slaves decided to be part of this group and by 1817 there were 20,000 Indians and 800 black slaves fled.
