The RNA differs in one of the pyrimidines, such that instead of thymine it has uracil.

- RNA is a single-stranded molecule, which consists of a pentose sugar ribose. DNA consists of deoxyribose pentose sugar.
- The four nitrogenous bases in the RNA are uracil, adenine, cytosine, and guanine. The DNA has thymine instead of uracil in the nitrogenous bases.
- RNA is present in the nucleolus, which moves to the specialized region of the cytoplasm based on the type of RNA. The DNA is present in the nucleus and does not dislocate inside the cell.
Therefore, RNA is similar to DNA, which differs on the basis of nitrogenous base and structure.
