Consider a political discussion group consisting of 10 democrats, 7 Republicans, and 6 independents. Suppose that two group members are randomly selected, in succession, to attend convention. Find the probability of selecting two Republicans

Respuesta :

Let's firstly consider the number of ways in which you can pick two people from 23 people: 23C2

Now, how many ways can we choose 2 Republicans? Well, we have 7 Republicans and we want to choose 2 of them: 7C2

Therefore, P(2 Republicans) = [tex]\frac{^{7}C_2}{^{23}C_2}[/tex]

Correct me if I'm wrong, haven't done permutations and combinations in a while.
