Colonizers faced many challenges once they settled on America. New settlers faced tough terrain. This caused delays in deliveries to different colonies. The main problem they faced were the Native Americans that had prevented Americans from taking their land or often attacked their colonies. Americans also faced harsh weather and disease. Many died from the diseases that spread throughout the country. Americans suffered a lot from hunger as well. Depending on where they were living, crops would not grow due to the terrain they had or climate. Such as the desert. Other factors they faced were other countries colonizing separate areas of land. Many countries divided the land and soon fought over it. England played a major factor in war and disagreements. England was growing quickly and wanted more land to control. This started rebellion in many places and politics became corrupted. More barriers were religion and cultural. There were Quakers and pilgrims, Christians and Catholics. Each settled in America for religious reasons but the Christians and Catholics wanted their religion to spread, causing many problems to erupt among colonist.
I hope this helps you. I went off of what I remember from US History class.
