Ill take you though the steps of finding the answer for #2
1)move -24 to the other side if equation (you get x^2-5x__=-24
2)then you divide the b term which is -5 by 2 and (you get -2.5
3)after that you square -2.5 (you get 6.25)
4)that is plugged into the space that i left as c term. (you get x^2-5x+6.25=-17.75
5)i got -17.75 because I since i added 6.25 on ones side i have to on the other
5)then you split the equation into two binomials (you get (x-2.5)(x+2.5)^2=-17.75
6)i put the b term divided by (2.5) in for that binomial.
7) then you have to find the square root of both sides of the equation and you make one of those answers positive and the other negative.
7) here i am using the completing the square strategy.
*you can also use the quadratic formula, square rooting, or graphin

Hope that helps
