When it comes to working with others on a formal setting what's important to be successful in a group discussion is explain them in light of the values and beliefs of your opponents. It is also important that the words appeal to the sensitivity of the adversary.
It must also be considered that it is not necessary to extend too much. It is not argued better by saying the same thing many times, or with many words. If you speak too much it is more likely that you are wrong.
If you're wrong, accept it. It will not take you anywhere to be a fool, but it will harm you.
Never use the "ad hominem fallacy", even if you run out of arguments. It is the easiest exit, but also the dirtiest one.
It should be noted that one thing that I've learned is to understand the point of view of others in a discussion.
