You can simplify the fraction to get an equivalent fraction. Or you could multiply a number to the top and bottom of the fraction and get an equivalent fraction.
I'll use 2, 3, and 4.
[tex] \frac{40}{50} * \frac{2}{2} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{80}{100} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{40}{50} * \frac{3}{3} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{120}{150} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{40}{50} * \frac{4}{4} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{160}{200} [/tex]
So, some equivalent fractions to 40/50 are 80/100, 120/150 and 160/200.
