Recall the previous question and the scenario with Zamir and Talia finding their way through a maze. Why is their displacement the same when the distance each traveled was different?

Respuesta :

displacement is how far away you are from where you started from.  It doesn't matter the distance you covered getting to the exit, you still are the same distance away from where you started.

When we have, displacement in the maze, we first need to define the concept and purpose of the reference point. The reference point is the one in relation to which any distance is measured. This means that the displacement is, how far are you from where you started, that is, from the reference point. For example, if you've started from the reference point and went to the specified maze path, return to the initial reference point, your displacement is equally zero, regardless of the distance you've crossed. Or, if you and somebody else, get to the exit, taking different ways, you've crossed the same displacement, although your distance you traveled are different.
