The facilities that generate Solar power to generate electricity at large centralized facilities, which in turn transmit the power via electric grids to homes and businesses are called as “Concentrated solar power (CSP) facilities”.
A CSP plant usually uses mirrors which concentrate the solar energy which drive the steam engines or turbines to create electricity.
In the CSP plant, the thermal energy that is concentrated can be stored and it can used to produce electricity whenever it is needed.
