A typical phenomenon of the nineteenth century, Imperialism or Neocolonialism demarcated the process of expansion of industrial capitalism by Europe. During this period, European nations needed an ever-increasing volume of raw materials and sought to conquer new consumer markets that could reverse the industrial production of these countries to profit. As a result, regions of the African and Asian continents began to be the main target of this demand of the industrialized nations.
Unlike the colonization developed in the Modern Age, neocolonialists did not have the obtaining of tropical genera and precious metals among their greater interests. The neocolonialists attempted to transform the local population into a regular consumer market for their products and supplier of raw materials that were linked to the expansion of the largest industrial sectors and the development of new technologies that would reduce production costs.
