Conditions in which it will lead to chemical weathering are the following;
- Oxidation – formation of oxides when a rock reacts with elements oxygen and water changing into different color.
- Dissolving in acid – carbonic acid is formed when carbon dioxide is dissolve n water, creating karst topography in creating sink holes and caves.
- Hydrolysis – chemical weathering which is caused with the element water, it turns clay minerals.
- Water absorption – rocks are put into stress making them vulnerable and expand.
- Hydration – removal of water in the rocks.
