Wilhelm Wundt was considered the "Father of Psychology" ans was the first to actually turn Psychology into a discipline that undertook rigorous study. In the years prior to Wundt, research was mainly done on an anecdotal and naturalistic observation basis, with rigorously-controlled studies not being considered useful for the discipline.
