Well, it really depends on the note taker. However, you can help yourself learn in class by listening what the teacher emphasizes. For example, write down what the teacher keeps repeating. This most likely means it's important. Also, remember to write down whatever the teacher says if they say "this will be on the test" (well, duh). Depending on the type of student you are, you may be visual. You can also make doodles that help you remember what the teacher is communicating. This is really helpful in classes like social studies, reading in English, and sometimes science. When your done writing down your notes, make a summary at the bottom that captures everything you learned. If you don't understand something, ask the teacher.
