Explanation: In the beginning of the story, he was given a week's notice that him and his mother would move to Japan and he did not take it well. He was unhappy with the idea of relocating and leaving his friends and life behind. After the move, he refused to leave the base for a long time and chose to only  spend his time on social media and talk to his friend online.

Eventually, his mother forced him to go out and meet new friends, and slowly but surely, he began to explore his surroundings more with his new friends. After eight months of exploration, he found out that they would be traveling again - and to his mother's surprise - he was excited because he had developed a sense of adventure.
