The Haitian Revolution was the result of a long struggle on the part of the slaves in the French colony of St. Domingue, but was also propelled by the free Mulattoes who had long faced the trials of being denoted as semi-citizens.
The Haitian Revolution was a very successful anti-slavery and anti-colonial insurrection by self-liberated slaves against French colonial rule in Saint-Domingue, now the sovereign nation of Haiti. So,basically many ''black'' people were taken as slaves. Many of the self liberated slaves as I stated earlier overturned the French colonists and now St.Domingue is Haiti.
