The Nazi's began to realize that the loss was inevitable around the Winter of 1942 or 1943 (some dispute goes within that). They began executing more and more Jew's and POW's more rapidly and trying to hide as much evidence as possible in the event that they were caught.

In 1943 the Nazis realized that a loss was inevitable and began to destroy evidences and documents.

  • The Nazis retreat and bombing of German cities made them realize their loss was certain.
  • The Nazis began to hide and burn evidence that could be revealed crime against humanity.
  • The killing of Jews in camps increased.
  • Many Nazis escape to South America with their families to escape the Allies.
  • Prisoner of War were also killed in camps.
  • In 1944, Nazis began to destroy the gas chambers at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Therefore we can conclude that Nazis tried to hide the evidence against the atrocity.
