umm Catal Huyuk is an archaeological site in what is now south-central Turkey. Along with Jericho, it's considered one of the oldest cities in the world, dating from almost 7500 BC.
Simple village life might be stable and secure but somewhat dull. Complex village life would be more varied, with a bigger pool of skills, ideas, and needs.
