Explanation:
There were various types of colonies: Proprietary, corporate and Royal, Joint Stock and covenant. The English colonies in North America in 17th century are good examples of proprietary colony. These colonies belonged to the ruler and had full right over it. The propriety colonies were used to reward the allies by King Charles Second. North Carolina and South Carolina were the examples of Proprietary colonies. The royal Colonies were the colonies which were administered by the officials responsible to and appointed by the king of Great Britain. They were governed by Royal governor and council. they also had representative assemblies that was elected by the people. New Hampshire, and New Jersey were royal colonies. The major difference between the two types of colonies was that Proprietary colonies were given to the allies and they were responsible for its administration, while the royal colonies were administered by the appointed royal officials.
