Great Gatsby Questions: Please Answer!

How would you describe Daisy’s state of mind during dinner? What does she say and
do to reveal her inner conflicts?

What indications are there that the green light will have a powerful emotional
significance to Gatsby?

Respuesta :

WOW! I love the Great Gatsby. Daisy seemed a bit oblivious during the dinner scene, maybe because she refuses to see her husband's faults. She won't stop talking, which is a sign that she's nervous and trying to stop thinking about who her husband might have been talking to.

The green light symbolizes hope, and the American dream, which is why Gatsby can't stop contemplating it.
Daisy is a little upset at the dinner scene but knows she can't do nothing really about it, that's how the time was back than. She knows she can't leave Tom for the fact that he also comes from what the East side says is old money. She is kind of tense when talking to Tom after myrtle kept calling. She later after dinner is sad and you can tell by what she tells Nick when she found out her child was a girl. "The best thing for a girl to be in this world is a fool, a beautiful little fool"
