Burning and rusting are both chemical reactions, and both are oxidation. Burning is the oxidation of the fuel source and rusting is the oxidation of metal.
burning and rusting are the same because they are cause and effects to each other. burning is the cause of rust and rust is the effect of burning. For example if I always use my stove, stoves burn. the acid chemical makes the iron or material on your stove turn into rust.
