Braddock's expedition, which was also known as the Braddock's campaign was a failed British military undertaking that happened during the French-Indian War. The campaign failed in it's goal to conquer the Fort Duquesne which was located on the territory that is now Pittsburgh as they were ambushed by the French and Indian troops.
When braddock was sent to north America to help the colonial americans fight off the French, he was met with resistance by both the French fighters, as well as the indian fighters that were supposed to be allies. The Indians wanted a promise from Braddock that once they together defeated the French at the Forks of the Ohio, that the British soldiers would retreat from there and not stay in that area. When Braddock refused to agree to this, what ended up happening is that the Indians actually fought against them with the French and Braddock was defeated.
